Hey, I'm Sara!
Hi! I am so happy you’re visiting us at FureverDogMa! My name is Sara Witmer, and I am a dog addict! I come from a family of dog addicts. Dogs are in my blood. Life just isn’t worth living with out a dog or three.
The FureverDogMa Family
I am very happily married to my high school sweetheart, Brian! We have two wonderful children, Lexi (Alexandra) who just turned 13 and Wyatt, 11. We live on a 24 acre farm in Western New York with our 3 golden retrievers, 5 cats, 1 horse, and various farm animals. I love homesteading, but dogs are really my passion! I am even the leader of our county 4H Dog Club!
Where The Dog Obsession Began
Dedicating My Life To Dogs
Thankfully, not long after we moved in a new owner took possession of the kennels, Linda, and my life changed forever. Linda was a wonderful woman who saw my interest and took me under her wing. I learned how to properly bathe and groom dogs and cats, how to train, and of course clean dog runs!
As the years went by I was allowed more and more responsibility. I learned so much from Linda and miss her terribly (Linda, if you’re reading this thank you so much!). She also taught me all the cheats to Zelda!
Linda showed American Staffordshire Terriers. I was in love with her dogs Falco and Lacey, and when they had puppies, Oh my gosh, did I want one! Unfortunately, even as far back as the early 90’s bully breeds were not well liked by home insurance companies and I was told no. It was a hard NO but with her guidance we found our first golden retriever, Rusty.
I think I was about 16 years old when another wonderful opportunity opened up. I don’t remember why or how it even came up, but my mother mentioned to our vet that I was interested in becoming a vet myself. He offered to let me come shadow him for a few weeks. That experience was priceless! Watching how he cared for and treated the animals that came through his doors just solidified my goals.

FureverDogMa's Future
We have been breeding for over 10 years now and always learning.
Balancing the dogs, the kids, the farm and life is sometimes challenging, but so worth it! The best part is we’ve passed our passion on to our children, who are very active in our local 4H Horse and Dog Clubs.
With everything going so well we decided to move on to the next adventure. In 2019 we decided we wanted to be involved in competitive dog showing and purchased a male with a great pedigree, Salem. He is currently getting trained and should be ready for his debut shortly. Don’t get me wrong my dogs are well bred dogs but they don’t have the lineage to even compete in the ring.
So, come with me on this magical journey of learning about man’s best friend, living with dogs, and trying to starting our own show line. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
